The Shakespeare Inn is a traditional former Coaching Inn dating back to the 1830's and is located in the heart of Kendal town centre, the gateway to the stunning Lake District National Park. We offer quality En-Suite Bed and Breakfast accommodation . The rooms are completely separate from the bar and guests love that they are free to come and go as they please, with many of them having their own front door. A warm welcome is assured to everyone who visits us, even more so in the bar where we offer a wide selection of traditional cask ales, an excellent wine list and extensive gin menu. Our food is supplied locally using only the finest ingredients prepared by our team of trained staff. From breakfast to dinner, only the best will do.
Whatever your reason for visiting Kendal, Fell Walking, Climbing, Cycling, Golfing or purely Sightseeing, the Shakespeare is an ideal base to explore the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and West Coast of England. We are also a popular over night stop off point for people visiting or returning from Scotland.
The trading and dining areas will undergo a full internal and external refurbishment in March and April 2018 but rest assured, the traditional feel and atmosphere.
