Guests can choose to dine in a choice of two restaurants or in the bar. The Black Swan offers a range of traditional choices which use local produce when possible. This includes cheeses from Cotherstone and other local farms and meats sourced both from local farms and specialist suppliers. All food is freshly made and special diets/allergies, along with vegetarian menus can be catered for.

There is a comfortable bar area which serves local cask ales and other refreshments.

There is a very large garden area for guests to enjoy in the warmer months either for dining or for relaxing.

The Black Swan opened a  Village Store in July 2007 with the help of HRH Prince Charles’s charity ‘Pub is the Hub’. What once was a bedroom is now a shop offering residents, locals and visitors essential grocery items, produce, stationery, gifts and crafts, sourced locally. Organic soaps and toiletries, made by a local farmer’s wife, which are used in the hotel bedrooms, are on sale in the shop to take home along with cakes, jams & preserves from local suppliers and cards, books and calendars painted and produced by local artists.
