The Bay Horse Inn is situated opposite the village cross and is a very attractive building dating back to 1600. The original beams are in evidence and it boasts an unusual circular, iron chandelier. In 1958 the land, including the pub was sold for 4,200 GBP.
The pub was once a coaching inn, and before that, there was a Roman settlement in the area. The Bay Horse Inn has gained a reputation for good locally sourced, homecooked food and has an extensive wine list. Our award-winning garden is tucked away at the rear of the pub for the enjoyment of our guests and is the ideal place to relax. We can also cater for parties, weddings and indeed most private functions as marquee facilities can be arranged if you need to accommodate in excess of 80 guests.
