Nestled on the edge of Carrbridge in the Cairngorms National Park, Dalrachney Lodge is a former Edwardian hunting lodge dating back to 1845, now lovingly run as an independent family-owned retreat. Set in two acres of private grounds and approached via a Scots Pine-lined driveway along the River Dulnain, the Lodge offers a tranquil Highland escape just 15 minutes from Aviemore.
Inside, you’ll find original Victorian and Edwardian features including pitched pine woodwork, high corniced ceilings, and antique details complemented by tasteful, heritage-inspired furnishings. Each guest room is individually styled, offering Double, Twin, King, or Super King options, with our Superior rooms featuring handmade 6ft Savoir beds for an exceptional night’s rest.
Each stay includes a freshly cooked breakfast, with popular choices like French Toast, Full Scottish, or Smoked Salmon with Scrambled Eggs served daily to start your day right.
Dalrachney is the perfect base for exploring all the Highlands has to offer—from wildlife watching and fly fishing to skiing, golfing, mountain biking and hiking. The National Cycle Network Route 7 passes right through the village, and winter sports lovers will find snow-capped adventure in nearby Cairngorm Mountain.
We are unable to accommodate dogs, either in the lodge or in vehicles overnight.
Steeped in history, Dalrachney has welcomed guests for generations, including King George V—his dog cart still sits in the Fochabers museum—and Queen Victoria once described Carrbridge as “the jewel of the North.” We’re proud to continue the legacy of warm Highland hospitality, offering a peaceful place to reconnect with nature, family, and self.
